An Exciting Year Ahead

The 2008 Fraser Valley Home Learning Expo will take place at the Abbey Arts Addition (next to the Abbey Arts Theatre in Abbotsford) on Friday, May 23^rd, 2008.

Please note that this is not the long weekend in May. More details will follow on this Expo that will feature a visit by a noted children’s author, parent workshops, children’s interactive activities and exhibit booths. Confirmed groups represented to date are Science World, the Arts Umbrella, the David Suzuki Nature Challenge, along with a number of public and independent DL Schools and homeschool vendors offering products to support your child’s K- 12 learning at home!

The Expo will be an admission-free event for families, however prior registration will be required. Certain workshops for parents and children, may carry a nominal charge of $5 and pre-registration for those activities will also be required. Workshop space will be limited and will be given on a first-come first-served basis, so register early.

A number of parents have approached us about running a Gently Used Curriculum Fair in conjunction with the Homelearning Expo. If this is something that may be of interest to you, please contact Expo Coordinator Lauren Hogue at abbygang@telus.net

As a family currently homelearning, or for those parents considering homelearning for their children, you won’t want to miss this highly informational & interactive Expo. It is designed to encourage families to explore all the homelearning opportunities available to them in our beautiful province. Children and parents alike will come away, excited and inspired about homelearning options for their family! Further information including registration information will be available in the New Year.
